Renee Zellweger opens up about her new face: "I'm glad folks think I look different!

Getting old in Hollywood is no easy task. I can't even begin to imagine what's it like for women in Tinseltown. It  means possibly losing out on jobs, being attacked in the media and enduring painful and sometimes awful plastic surgery. So I can see how certain celebs get the urge to go under the knife in their 40's or 50's . Case in point- Renee Zellweger. She received a ton of negative attention today after an appearance at the Elle Women in Hollywood Awards in Beverly Hills on Monday.

In a statement to PEOPLE Magazine, she explained her new face

"I'm glad folks think I look different! I'm living a different, happy, more fulfilling life, and I'm thrilled that perhaps it shows. Calling the conversation about her appearance "silly," she says she is choosing to address it because "it seems the folks who come digging around for some nefarious truth which doesn't exist won't get off my porch until I answer the door."

"My friends say that I look peaceful. I am healthy. For a long time I wasn't doing such a good job with that. I took on a schedule that is not realistically sustainable and didn't allow for taking care of myself. Rather than stopping to recalibrate, I kept running until I was depleted and made bad choices about how to conceal the exhaustion. I was aware of the chaos and finally chose different things."

Hmmm read the rest of her statement here. What do you think of her new face? Does she look peaceful or this a case of plain ole plastic surgery gone bad?

In 2012 I had the opportunity to interview the Braxton sisters in NYC and they made it abundantly clear that they were VERY interested in touring South Africa.

In the Braxton Family Values episode that aired last week, Toni said the following about touring SA:

'I have a huge fan base in Africa. It's gonna be great reconnecting with them. The culture, the food...and it's not just me on tour. It's me and Babyface, we are promoting Love, Marriage & Divorce'

I've seen Toni perform in person and she is AMAZING!! You won't want to miss her gig. Now lets if the sisters will pull it together for the South Africa trip and put aside their MAJOR drama to support their big sis Toni....only time will tell.

Be Calm and STOP the Ebola fear mongering!

Is rapper Camron serious? He just posted the following image to his Instagram account.

His caption read : Ebola is no joking matter..So if u have to be safe. Be fashionable #CamEbolaMask

WHAT THE ENTIRE F!CK?!?

Let's establish one thing first, Ebola is not airborne. Wearing a mask will not save you if you do indeed come into contact with someone infected with the virus. In the age of Google , I am rather astounded that a large population seem generally clueless as to how the disease is spread.

Let me use another picture, this one from the White House to show how the disease is spread.  Maybe this will help...just maybe

If we can just call a thing a thing, I am rather perturbed that folks are worried about the wrong thing. According to the New York Times the risk of an individual being afflicted with the disease in the United States is very VERY small. So far there's only been just one death documented in America. Contrast that one to more than 4,400 people have died in the latest outbreak in West Africa. Where is the international outrage about those deaths? Former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan hit the nail right on the head today when he stated the obvious, that the international response has been rather dismal because the epidemic is in Africa. I mean have you seen the Ebola memes floating around the internet?

Its only funny because it's happening to 'them" furthering adding to the stereotype that the continent is rife with disease and poverty. And while things are rather frightful in Liberia and other parts hit the hardest with the disease....to categorize an entire continent is just plain ole dumb.

The Times Article also states:
The flu kills more than 30,000 people in the United States. Yet this causes little anxiety: Millions of people who could benefit from a flu shot do not get one.“We’re familiar with the flu, we’ve had it and gotten better — we feel we know that threat,”

So you see, you are more likely to get the flu in the US than you are to get Ebola. So stop the fear mongering. Stop encouraging people to buy USELESS masks, stop this talk of banning flights to and from Africa cause that is not the solution either.

Let's smarten up people. Understand how the media cycle works. It's their job to sensationalize stories and have you tune in. But let's be honest about the situation at hand and stomp out this ignorance.

FLOTUS Michelle Obama on daughters joining the military "honored to be a proud Blue Star mom.”

First Lady Michelle Obama is on the cover of the November issue of REDOOK Magazine. Not too crazy about the photoshopping. But I am loving this windswept hair & vibrant dress. She's so FAB! Check out highlights of the interview below!

Michelle Obama the importance of education: "I have been promoting education period, because that is the way the world is going. On the other hand, veterans shouldn’t have to wait for a job. So one of our biggest challenges is, how do you take so many years of on-the-ground experience and compare that with a degree that may have nothing to do with the work?”

Kelly Rowland bares baby bump in Elle US spread!!

Kelly Rowland looks absolutely beautiful! Due to give birth at any moment the singer posed for a serious of shots with a actor turned photographer Lance Gross. In a candid interview with Elle Magazine (written by my girl Jessica Andrews) she talked all things motherhood and dished on her beauty regiments! Peep the highlights!

Congratulations on your first child! What are you looking forward to the most about motherhood?

I can't wait until he gets here. I just have a couple more weeks. I'm excited to bring a child into the world, and sharing that experience with my husband is probably the most beautiful part.

You've become quite a role model for staying fit during pregnancy. What tips would you give for other mothers who want to stay healthy and in shape while pregnant?

Everybody always tells you to go crazy with food, and you can eat whatever you want. It's fine to have your cravings but I wanted an easier delivery. All the women that I've talked to, that have worked out, have such an easy and speedy delivery. Exercise really helps that. And I like being able to have peaceful sleep at night, though there's no such thing as that now in the last trimester [laughs]. To be honest, I did modify my exercise routine a bit by just listening to my body. I would tell my trainer [Jeanette Jenkins] "This move doesn't feel right," and we'd modify it. I still walk two miles everyday. I still work out. It's important to me.

Any cravings?

I love cherry pie and chocolate ice cream with peanut butter mixed in it. And I had a week straight where I was obsessed with nachos.

Your skin is glowing! What's your pregnancy beauty regimen?

I've switched out anything with harsh chemicals. I use nothing but shea butter, pure cocoa butter and coconut oil. It's amazing how all of those things work so well for my skin. I'm going to continue to just use those after the baby gets here.

Real Housewives of NJ star Teresa Guidice sentenced to a year in prison!

Damn, why do people committ illegal crimes on TV?

This is so unfortunate!

According to People Magazine

Teresa Giudice will serve 15 months in prison for fraud charges, Judge Esther Salas announced Thursday.

"For a moment I thought about probation … but I think a period of confinement is absolutely necessary in this case," said the judge. "I don't honestly believe that you understand or respect the law. I need to send a message. In the eyes of the law it doesn't matter who you are. There are consequences to pay."

Teresa, 42, and her husband, Joe Giudice, appeared in court one final time as the judge handed out sentences to the parents of four. Joe was sentenced to 41 months – almost three and a half years – in prison, to be served after his wife serves her sentence.

In a tearful statement before the court earlier Thursday afternoon, Teresa said, "My daughters are my life. I'm more sorry than anyone will ever know. I will make this right no matter what."

She also added, "I'm really scared … I need to learn to do things for myself. It's time for me to wake up."

The couple have four daughters, Audriana, 5, Milania, 8, Gabriella, 9, and Gia, 13.

So while the judge was handing down the sentence she admonished the couple for lying in recent months about purchases they made. So let me get this right? You're about to go to jail for bank & wire fraud and you think it's a good idea to lie to the judge about some furniture, jewelry and cars? These people are idiots! The only victims here are the kids!

Tough break for the Guidices!

Quote of the Day- First Lady Michelle Obama

"I want the young people to pay attention because, see, back when I first met Barack, we started dating, he had everything going for him. All right, ladies, listen to this.  This is what I want you to be looking for. Yes, he was handsome—still is. I think so. He was charming, talented, and oh-so smart, truly.  But that is not why I married him. Now, see, I want the fellas to pay attention to this. You all listening? What truly made me fall in love with Barack Obama was his character. You hear me? It was his character. It was his decency, his honesty, his compassion and conviction"
