RECAP: Oprah's krazy interview with the Kardashians

Last night Oprah Winfrey aired part 1 of her 2 part Kardashian interview on her OWN network. Now I understand that things at OWN aren't exactly going well but the sit down with the Kardashians irked me to no end. As you know, I detest everything the Krazy Kardashians stand for so to see them receive the ultimate seal of approval from Mama O, sent me up the freaking wall. I understand that this was an effort to get ratings on OWN  but quite frankly even Oprah seemed a bit disinterested in what was being discussed. So in case you missed the entire show, check out my top 5 moments from the interview:

Lies, lies, lies!
In Kim's first ever sit down chat with the queen of talk, Mama O asked the reality starlet about claims the family acted out on TV for shock value to generate ratings. Her answer floored me. Kim replied "we don't do anything for ratings".  Err excuse me? Let's be real here, a reality show is nothing without HUGE ratings. The Kardashian krew has perfected the art of acting out to get ratings. Do they think that the public is so dumb that we don't see that some of the scenarios (ie the 72 day wedding) are done just to get viewers? Nonsense!

Mama Kris and her tears..
As much as I detest the Kardashians I cant help but admire momager's Kris's business savvy. This woman has transformed a sex tape into a multi billion dollar empire for the entire family. She of course shed a few tears when talking to Oprah because that's what you do when you talk to Oprah. Last night Mama Kris talked everything ranging from  her doubts with the OJ trial, her relationship with ex-husband Robert Kardashian and vehemently defended herself against claims that she's pimping her children.  Her children seemed to agree with this sentiment, with Kim saying "We have to hire a manager, so regardless, someone is going to get that money. No one will fight harder harder for you than your own mother" Given their overexposure, endorsement deals, over saturation in the market, there is no doubt in my mind that she IS successfully pimping every member in that family.

Kourtney uncomfortable with being famous?
During the first few minutes of the show, Kourtney noted that even to this day she is not entirely too comfortable with the idea of being famous. Again, I call B.S on this. This family has cameras trailing them 24/7, paparazzi following their every move and they claim not to love the attention. Guys, Bruce Jenner has 2 other children that avoid the limelight and stay away from media and public scrutiny. Take note Kourtney, if you don't like being famous, ask your step brothers and sisters how they manage.

What are you famous for again?
Now this was the biggest lie that Kim K told all night long. When asked by Mama O why she was famous, Kim answered with a straight face "I am famous for having a TV show". Ummm, have we forgotten about that pesky sex tape that catapulted her into fame. Again, one of the issues I have with this family is transparency, just be honest about how you achieved your fame.

"My Mom agreed to put on birth control when I was FOURTEEN"
This stunned me last night. When Oprah asked Kim Kardashian when she lost her virginity she replied "I did want to have sex for the first time I was almost 15" and the Dash owner continued "I was like I am going to, or I want to.." This couldn't have happened in an African household. 15 is entirely too young to be having sex, I am sorry, I pass complete judgement on this. Out of all the things a 15 year old should be worried about, sex should not be one of them. At that tender age, your body is not ready for all the physical, emotional and spiritual repercussions of that act.

Clearly I didn't think very highly of the interview, but I am part of the problem. I will be tuned in next week for part 2 of the interview. Kim will let us in whether she thinks Kanye West is her new fairytale. LAWD!
