In Defense of John Hamm: Kim Kardashian is really stupid

Mad Men star John Hamm recently sent shock waves through the Internet when he referred to reality starlet Kim Kardashian and her former BFF Paris Hilton as "[expletive] idiots" In an interview with Elle UK John stated: "stupidity is certainly celebrated," in the U.S., adding, "[It's] a valuable commodity in this culture because you're rewarded significantly."

Let’s be honest for a second, John summed up very nicely what we all know to be true. In the US, we absolutely do celebrate stupidity, this why the highest rated television shows involve cat fighting, cheating spouses, back stabbers and all around ridiculousness. We have created this culture where people like Kim Kardashian (who have no comprehensible talent) are able to get rewarded. The average bus driver, community leader, pastor, police man will probably never accomplish the level of financial success and fame that the Kardashian klan has achieved. They are literally famous for doing nothing and that my friends is problematic.  

But back to Kim Kardashian.

Kim refused to take John’s statement lying down (which is ironic because she got famous for lying down) and responded back via twitter. "We're all working hard and we all have to respect one another," she tweeted on Monday. "Calling someone who runs their own businesses, is a part of a successful TV show, produces, writes, designs, and creates, 'stupid,' is in my opinion careless."

Kim Honey, John’s statement is not “careless” it’s what we common folk call the truth. Let’s take a walk down memory lane shall we? Way before the “successful TV show” the only reason Kim K became famous was because of the now infamous sex tape. It was really Kim’s mother Kris Jenner who took the reins and turned a seemingly bad situation into a multi billion dollar business. In my opinion, Mom-ager Kris is really the brains behind that family. Just because the Kardashian family is famous, it doesn’t negate the stupidity part.  These Kardashian women are not role models, and in my opinion are exactly what John said "[expletive] idiots"
